NEW TECHNOLOGY being installed at the Mullumbimby Library on the 13 November will make it easier and faster to borrow books.

The library will be closed until 1pm on 13 November so a new loan station and security gates can be installed.

Jo Carmody, Regional Library Manager, said the installation of the new loan station will allow staff to process five books at a time.

“When you consider that last year people borrowed more than 340,000 items from libraries in the Byron Shire this new loan station will save a lot of time for library users and staff,” Ms Carmody said.

“The installation of the loan station, and security gates, is part of a bigger upgrade of the Richmond Tweed Regional Library system which is funded by a Public Library Infrastructure grant from the NSW State Library,” she said.
