Woman’s Body Found on Brunswick River Banks

A REPORT will be prepared for the coroner after a woman’s body was found dead on the banks of the Brunswick River in Mullumbimby on Wednesday November 29.

The woman, who was found nearby the river in Heritage Park, Mullumbimby about 4.30pm Wednesday 29, is yet to be formally identified but her death is not believed to be suspicious.

Byron Council Rangers Assaulted While Patrolling Illegal Campers

A MAN will face Byron Local Court on Thursday December 7, charged with the alleged assault of a Byron Bay Shire Council ranger.

Police will allege a 29-year-old from Frankston, Victoria, held a steering column lock and pointed it at a ranger, who approached him while patrolling illegal campers in Byron Bay.

Over 500 Trees to be Planted at Tyagarah Airstrip

VEGETATION WORK to be undertaken at Tyagarah airstrip in late November will see more than 500 trees planted near the airfield and 72 trees and shrubs pruned as part of routine maintenance works to make sure the aerodrome is safe for the people who use it.

The works will be done in accordance with an approved Review of Environmental Factors with input from an independent ecologist.

VOICE of BYRON regular, Billy Nichols, calls for help with information after his Jack Russel terrier was attacked by what appeared to be an unleashed Irish Wolfhound on the weekend. 

Billy says, “At the Sunday Sustainable Bakery this morning an off-leash Grey Irish Wolfhound (I’m pretty sure this is the breed or similar) attacked our Jack Russell, suddenly and unprovoked.
