Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Locates Lost Swimmer Off Cape Byron

A SWIMMER was swept from Tallow Beach in hazardous surf conditions on Saturday February 3 then located by the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter at the base of the Cape Byron headland.

The man was spotted from the Westpac chopper attempting to scramble up onto the rocks.

Hazardous sea conditions and visibility made the the rescue attempt difficult but the rescue helicopter liaised with ground search parties by radio to help them locate the man.
