BYRON BAY Scouts is looking for new leaders to meet the demand of young people wanting to join the movement.

The Byron group is one of the oldest organisations in the region, and remains one of the most popular, so much so it is unable to accommodate the number of children wanting to join.

The group now has 75 youth members ranging from 6 to 18 years of age and many, many more on the waiting list.

Byron Bay Scout Leader in Charge, Tim Winton, said the local group needed more adult leaders.

‘However, we need more adults to come on board as section leaders. People who love the outdoors and camping and just getting involved with the kids.’

.As an added bonus the child of anyone joining as a Group Leader is immediately able to join the appropriate age group.
