BYRON BAY Scouts is looking for new leaders to meet the demand of young people wanting to join the movement.

The Byron group is one of the oldest organisations in the region, and remains one of the most popular, so much so it is unable to accommodate the number of children wanting to join.

Byron Bay Scout Leader in Charge, Tim Winton, said the local group needed more adult leaders.

‘Byron Bay Scouts is one of the most active groups in Australia with the children regularly participating in an array of incredible activities and camps,’ Mr Winton said.

‘However, we need more adults to come on board as section leaders. People who love the outdoors and camping and just getting involved with the kids.’

.As an added bonus the child of anyone joining as a Group Leader is immediately able to join the appropriate age group.

Byron Bay Scouts is holding an information night TONIGHT Tuesday August 8 at 6pm at the Byron Scout Hall for anyone interested in becoming a leader or any children interested in joining.
