CAPE BYRON Rudolf Steiner School will be running a Song Writing Competition at the annual Spring Fair, which this year has the theme The Earth is our Garden.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Cape Byron Steiner has run a Song Writing Competition, and it’s open to all high school-aged students in Byron, Ballina and Lismore areas.

Local businesses Byron Bay Bluesfest, Mullum Music Festival and Byron Music have provided generous sponsorship and outstanding prizes.

The Spring Fair is the school’s biggest event each year, running from 10am-3pm.

The songwriter’s competition will be held from 12pm-1pm. Winners will be announced at 2.45pm on the day.

Entrants are to perform their song on the day, with judges looking for a strong, engaging performance, melodies, lyrics and song structure, among others. Some prizes on offer include tickets to Bluesfest 2017 and Mullum Music Festival.

At the Cape Byron Steiner Spring Fair, Balraith Lane, Ewingsdale, on Saturday, September 17, from 10am. Park at Byron Sports Centre. Free shuttle bus all day.
