A 17-year-old man has been left with serious injuries after being attacked by a shark at Ballina this morning.
Paramedics were called to Light House Beach at East Ballina around 9 am to assist a man suffering injuries consistent with a shark attack.
The man had injuries to the right side of his body, mainly to his torso and legs.
Life guards also assisted paramedics on the beach.
An emergency helicopter was called in to airlift the man for further treatment.
