BYRON BAY’S photo artist Sean O’Shea has made it into the semi-finals of the prestigious 2016 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize.

Sean has wowed Byron locals and a worldwide audience in his Facebook page since 2013, featuring exceptional works depicting the beauty of Byron Bay and hundreds of joyful images of the Bay’s dolphin doing what they love best – frolicking in our surf.

Sean’s unique imagery is captured whilst doing what he enjoys most, walking the spectacular tracks and beaches of Byron Bay.

Sean has a great love and respect for the wildlife of the bay and he particularly enjoys watching and photographing the local bird life especially the Osprey who are magnificent to watch in flight.

He experiences special moments like witnessing and recording a pod of dolphins escorting a whale and baby from Cosy Corner to Watego’ Beach, bringing him a great sense of wonderment and understanding of how precious our environment is.
