INDONESIAN PROSECUTORS have confirmed that Byron Bay’s Sara Connor and her British boyfriend David Taylor will face three charges — murder, violence causing death and assault causing death — when their case comes to court next month.

The prosecution team has today declared that the police brief of evidence, known as a dossier, is complete.

Sara is “devastated’ at news that she will be charged with murder in Bali, according to the Byron Bay community and her closest friends and family.

“Our hearts go out to Sara and her family and we will do all we can to help her through this very difficult time,” concluded her friends in Byron Bay, in a media release.

The Byron Bay community is known to have offered her all support possible.

According to Sara’s Australian barrister Peter Strain “We have enormous respect for the justice system in Indonesia and are hopeful that once the judges hear the truth, Sara will be acquitted.”

Both Connor and Taylor will face identical charges in separate trials — murder, carrying a 15-year maximum jail term, violence causing death, with a 12-year maximum and assault causing death, which has a seven year maximum term.

Under Indonesian law it is the prosecutors who decide the charges.
