NATALIE IMBRUGLIA was out and about in Byron Bay late last week amid rumours she has just bought her own $1.3 million stake in the star-studded holiday spot.

The two-hectare property in the Coorabell hinterland in question currently boasts a three-bedroom “shack” with sensational views to the ocean, but is expected to be a home building project for the London-based singer once the purchase settles.

Records show the two hectare property was listed with a $1.3 million asking price in April through Glen Irwin, of LJ Hooker Byron Bay, on behalf of the Richards family and sold for bang on that amount earlier this month.

Glen Irwin declined to comment on the sale or buyer details, but a source said the former Neighbours star is planning to split her time between London and Australia.

Imbruglia joins an impressive line-up of Hollywood stars to buy into the district. Decades after Paul Hogan put Possum Creek on the global stage, Simon Baker and his wife Rebecca Rigg bought their hinterland property in Nashua in 2009 for $1.5 million, Chris Hemsworth bought his Broken Head home for $7 million in 2014, and more recently Isabel Lucas spent $857,500 on her beachside escape.

Meanwhile, Imbruglia’s former husband Daniel Johns has formed a syndicate with the rest of the owners in his Bondi Beach apartment block to sell in one line for more than $11.5 million.

Johns had purchased his two top-floor apartments in the block of seven for a total of $1.6 million in 2001, two years before he and Imbruglia were married.
