How’s Your Plastic-Free July Going?

How’s your progress, resisting the plastic temptation this July?

Byron Plastic Free July, led by Santos Organics and supported by Byron Shire Council, is a campaign designed to change the way we view, use and accumulate plastic in our lives.

Byron Shire residents were invited to take the challenge to minimise the plastic packaging they purchase for the month of July.

This means plastic packaging, plastic straws, plastic lined coffee cups, useless plastic oddities, plastic bags and anything else made with plastic.

If residents felt a completely plastic free month was not possible, they were invited to set themselves a maximum number of pieces and do whatever they could not to exceed it.

Hopefully, everyone is on target for a plastic-free month.
