BYRON SHIRE Council Elections candidate James Wright wants to return the power to be involved in Council decisions to the people of the Shire.

His idea is to use a revolutionary voting system promoted by Flux, a gateway Shire residents can use to participate directly in Council.

The Flux website says our politicians say one thing to get elected and then do another. It says horse trading and back room deals have become more important than good policy, and the will of the people.

Wright claims this applies to Byron Shire Council as much as it does to State and Federal governments.

He says he and his running mates in Group E – Liam Munday Manley, Brad Wodiske and Blair Beattie – will allow Shire voters to decide how Group E Councillors would vote in the future, if elected.

“This is another Powerful opportunity to return the POWER TO THE PEOPLE via the Revolutionary Platform Flux

“If elected we could be the first anywhere in the country at any level of Government to hand the vote back to the people on all matters that come before Council.”

The process looks simple and easy. Shire voters download an app to their smartphone, tablet or PC, log in, then see what policies are up for discussion.

Voters can then vote on issues important to them, and Group E Councillors would then abide by the majority decision and act accordingly.

“The Flux platform shows me how the people of Byron Shire are voting and in pure democratic fashion I act according to the majority vote.”
