FROM VoB FACEBOOK: Seeking Missing Tray From “17th Doll” Movie

Voice of Byron and KWIMABB regular, Melissa Darnley, shared this unusual request from the Friends of the Tweed Regional Museum.

17th-doll-poster“Hey Murwillumbah! Can you help us solve a mystery??

“In 1958 the movie: ‘Summer of the 17th Doll’ was filmed in the local area.

“A large number of crew and cast were filming on Harold Lundberg’s cane farm. At the end of filming the cast and crew presented Harold with a silver tray engraved with their names.

“We are trying to find the tray to borrow for a fantastic exhibition we have planned for 2017.

“Relatives of the Lundberg’s inform us that the tray was given to a local “Society”. However they do not know which one. It isn’t with the Murwillumbah Historical Society so I am searching other local groups to see if they have a tray matching that description.

“If you could pass around your networks we would be most appreciative. It must be somewhere! Maybe the power of social media can find it.
