Council to Reclassify Suffolk Park Beachfront Land for Long-Term Residents

reclassification_part_suffolk_beachfront_holiday_park-1A COUNCIL Planning Proposal to amend the Byron Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2014 to reclassify part of the public land at the Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park is on exhibition from 8 September to 6 October 2016.

Council initiated the Planning Proposal to reclassify part of the public land within the Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park from ‘community land’ to ‘operational land’ status under the Local Government Act 1993 and to discharge interests in the land.

There is no intention by Council to sell this land.

The purpose of the proposed reclassification is to enable Council to formalise leasing arrangements with long-term residents of the caravan park.

The Planning Proposal and supporting documentation can be viewed at Council’s administration centre and the Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park.

Interesting use of words ‘no intention to sell the land’ !
The next General Manager, the next councillors, the next generation.
Reclassify from ‘community’ to ‘operational’ leaves it open to sell .
