THE WORLD’S largest “crystal guardians” have completed an epic journey from Uruguay to the Byron Bay hinterland.

Standing 5.3m tall and weighing 19 tonnes, the pair of crystals are estimated to be at least 120 million years old.

“Managing Dreamer” of the Crystal Castle, Naren King, mortgaged his property to buy the massive pair from a Uruguayan farmer.

“I don’t want to share how much I paid for it but we did throw the rest of our mortgage at it – every cent,” he said.

Smoky quartz, amethyst, clear quartz, calcite and agate crystals make up the geode.

“They are a human charging station,” he said.

“Everybody is welcome to come and stand in between them to be recharged.

“The energies are immensely powerful.

“If they were the size of my hand they would still be among the rarest crystals ever seen.

“I’ve never seen anything like them in thirty years of collecting crystals.”

“We are calling them the crystal guardians because you personally imbue their energy by being near them.”

Years ago they had been seen as “offbeat hippies out the back of Byron Bay”, but now the Crystal Castle had been visited by the likes of Princess Mary of Denmark, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Imbruglia, John Wright and Katy Perry.
