ALDI RIP-OFF: Deliberate or Accidental?

GOLD COASTER Sean Ryatt claims he has discovered a rip-off happening at Aldi supermarkets.

He claims it’s only small, but it adds up to make big extra profits for Australia’s third largest supermarket chain.

“I know it doesn’t seem like much in dollars-and-cents terms, but in this day and age every little bit counts,” he said.

“The product is a good product, Mamia Bay Wipes… a real pleasure to use, and gentle as.”

But Ryatt claims Mamia Baby Wipes also have a hidden built-in profit generator for Aldi.

“You know how you pull out one wipe and the next one sticks its little tongue out, ready for the next extraction, right?

“Well about every 6 to 8 wipes, the next wipe doesn’t stick out,” says Ryatt.

Ryatt claims he then has to dig around inside the packet with his finger.

“Then when I can finally find an edge, invariably I’m forced to drag out two wipes, instead of just one.

“The second wipe is wasted, because you can’t keep it or it’ll just dry out. If I wanted dry wipes, I’d just use normal tissues.”

There are 80 wipes in the Mamia Baby Wipes packet, but Ryatt claims that this built-in wastage means that to get 8 packets worth of wipes, he needs to buy 12 packets, not 10.

“That means I pay for 12 packets just to get 10 packets worth of wipes.”
