LOCAL VIDEO drone specialist, Nick Wall, recently achieved a career milestone when Tourism Australia ran one of his videos on their website.
Titled Just Another Day in Byron Bay, the two-minute video features views, aspects and activities that only the Bay can offer.

Nick has been in the media industry half his life, visiting all corners of the globe, marrying his “awesome bride” and moving to Byron Bay in 1995.
Always staying up with the latest in technology, Nick noticed early 2014 the potential role of drones in media.
“A little while back I noticed drones were creeping into the media circles so I dove in head first and am now a fully licensed Drone Op. Being from a Producer/ Cameraman/ Editor background, I felt I could offer something different, combining my skills on the ground and in the air,” says Nick.
A mainstay of Nick’s business, AirSwing Media, is videoing high-end golf courses – an activity which drops off during Autumn and Winter, when many courses look less than their best.
This winter Nick turned his hand at videos of Australian tourism’s jewel in the crown – Byron Bay.
“We have had our tourism work featured on Tourism Queensland and Visit NSW social media platforms,” says Nick
But when the “big fish” – Tourism Australia ran Nick’s Just Another Day in Byron Bay video it got 70,000 views in 24 hours and has so far reached 375,000 views since.
“You really do have to love Social Media Marketing,” says Nick.
“Just reading the comments also makes you super happy and proud you are promoting the town you love. At least half of them said things like ‘Let’s go there’ ‘We really need to go back’ and ‘I’m booking us in next week’!
“It’s got to bring a smile to everyone’s face! I mean really, yes I just spent a few extra minutes in traffic today, but how lucky are we to live here.”
