TWO-TIME Australian Open champion Peter Senior will miss the chance of a swansong on the Northern Rivers after he was forced into early retirement.
Senior was scheduled to play in the Australian Legends Tour Championship round at Byron Bay Golf Club in a fortnight.
The event is running for a 10th straight year and is stacked with big names including former British Open winner Ian Baker-Finch.
Senior has won the event multiple times in the past and was beaten in a playoff against Tod Power last year.
He had planned to retire at the end of the year which would have made the Byron Bay event one of his final tournaments.
