BYRON BAY and Bali. They are both beautiful places with beaches. From Kerobokan jail the beach is a mere 3 kilometre away. But Sara Connor will not be able to see it.

Locked up in a Bali jail cell for 10 days Sara has not seen or spoken to her two children since leaving Australia on what was to be an idyllic and carefree week in Bali.

Like any parent she is now missing them dreadfully. She has no idea when she will see them again, when she will cuddle and shower them with kisses and they her.

Sara’s future is now uncertain and in the hands of the Indonesian justice system when the rest of the drama involving her, her British lover and a Balinese police officer is played out over the next few months.

Police yesterday handed a brief of evidence against her and boyfriend, David Taylor, to prosecutors, alleging both were involved in the bashing murder of policeman Wayan Sudarsa on a Kuta beach on August 17.

The prosecutors now have seven days to consider the brief and either accept it or hand it back to police for further investigations. It is the prosecutors who eventually will decide any charges against the couple. Their detention period has been extended for another 40 days.

If Sara is charged she will be handed to the custody of prosecutors and taken to Kerobokan prison, where she will remain until any trial in the Denpasar District Court.
