BYRON BAY Lighthouse was struck by lightening last night Dec 5, causing serious damage which, without an electrician of Geoff Bensley’s talents, would have made tonight a very dark night indeed at Australia’s most easterly point.

The lightening destroyed electrical fuses, circuit breakers and relays.
“Hopefully back up and running before nightfall,” said Geoff.
“The guests in the cottages must have had a scary night.”
