LONG TIME Byron Bay local Ruth Knight turns 90 today, January 24. But she snuck in a family pre-birthday celebration last Saturday at Ann and Gordon’s new house on Kawana Island, not to far from Ruth’s nursing home at Maroochydore.

Fay says it was a great day.
“We had a big family birthday party, which also included eight out of nine grandchildren.”
Only Fay’s daughter Rachel missed the day, being currently located in London, and Ruth’s great-grandson Bobby remained with his mum Jasmine in Bermagui.
Bobby’s dad, Lucas, travelled up for the party and Ruth’s niece, Lyn Walsh, drove up from the Hunter region as well.
“It was a full day of celebrations for us all.”
