A WATEGO’S BEACH, Byron Bay, home that made more than $200,000 in 12 months from holiday lettings is for sale at $6,000,000.
One Voice of Byron member quipped that $200,000 a year from holiday lettings was “like Airbnb on steroids.”
The two dwelling property was built in 2003 and LJ Hooker Byron Bay agent Liam Annesley said the 5 Marine Parade “trophy home” was in the “best spot in Byron”.
“There’s not a lot of locations that could match this,” he said. “It’s 100 metres from the beach and looks straight up at the lighthouse.”
Mr Annesley said Byron’s market was changing.
“The top of Byron’s market has been extremely strong,” he said.
“In the past six months there has been some incredibly solid sales here.
“This could be because there’s been a shift of more people wanting to live the homes, rather than trends a few years back where more were looking at investments.”
The property is being sold via an expressions of interest campaign with a price guide of $6 million to $6.5 million.
In August, 134 Lighthouse Road sold for $5.6 million.
What about future home buyers in Byron bay I’ve been long time local and the local who’s kids and themselves can’t buy into the Town they once knew. We need a load of sustainable housing from Byron Shire Council and NSW State Government. Help the locals, make easier for the younger generation to buy in.
