Voice of Byron regular, Margaret Cleall, shared this information about Sash, a missing Bernese Mountain Dog similar to one being walked on the Sunshine Coast by couple saying they were from Byron Bay.
Sash’s Sunshine Coast owners, Michelle, Stephen, Lilly and Poppy Tindal, lost her on New Year’s Eve and are now asking that anyone seeing a Bernese Mountain Dog to give it more than a cursory glance.
Since there are so few dogs of this breed in Australia, the owners feel it could be their Sash.
UPDATE ON SASH: Administrators of the Help Bring Sash Home Facebook page said, “We have received a call this evening which we need a bit of help to follow up through anyone’s contacts with Bernese Mountain Dog owners.
“We had a discussion with a lovely local lady who walks on Noosa Main Beach boardwalk every morning and knows a couple of local Berners who early on New Years Day ran into a couple who were walking a Bernese Mountain Dog along the boardwalk who she hadn’t seen before, who told her they were from Byron Bay.
“Just wondering if we could try to follow up through contacts whether anyone knows of a couple who own a Berner from Byron Bay who were holidaying in Noosa during this time. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
“Don’t forget she has recently had surgery on the front left side with a big shaved patch and a scar about 3-4inches long. The hair has started growing back but it alot shorter than the rest of her hair.
“Also with her bad legs and hips she walks with quite a curved spine and her back right leg will limp a bit.
“If you see a neighbour or someone you know suddenly turn up with a Bernese Mountain Dog (she is 6 and a half) please just take an extra minute to have a look.
“If everyone can please please keep liking and especially SHARING this page as far and wide as they can and make a special request to your friends and family to do the same, we will send her story around Australia and if she is out there, we will find her, we have to.
