Voice of Byron regulars, Ric Wilson and Ben Ormonde, alerted us to price gouging at camping grounds in Byron.
Ben called Voice of Byron and said, “I was talking to people trying to find somewhere to camp in Byron Bay and said they were being charged $120 a night at at a local camping ground, for an un-powered tent site.
“These un-powered sites normally go for $20 to $30 per night.
“No wonder people are camping illegally in the street.”
Ric Wilson had much the same thing to say, “Here’s one for you.
“Festival promoter sets up camping at $300 per person, per night, with a bar and catering, in a local caravan park.
“How does that work and who approved the licence?”
Profit at Byron bay is like instant coffee!! they don’t want to wait! and work for it! it got to be NOW! It really sucks!
