Despite street lighting being blocked by trees and the only light coming from a full moon a security guard has claimed he witnessed Byron Bay mum Sara Connor with her hand around the neck of a Balinese police officer who was later found dead on Kuta beach.
Sara has repeatedly denied any involvement in the August 17 death of Wayan Sudarsa, a father of two and police officer of 35 years.
She insists that all she did was try to separate Mr Sudarsa and her boyfriend, David Taylor, after a fight broke out when Mr Taylor accused the police officer of being a bogus cop and stealing Ms Connor’s bag.
However Mr Suryana, who was a security guard at the nearby Pullman Hotel, told the Denpasar District Court on Tuesday he saw Ms Connor lying in the sand on the left side of the victim with her hand “locked to his neck”.
“I saw her (Ms Connor) lying on the left side of the victim with her left hand around his neck,” Mr Suryana told the court. “The victim was sighing.”
But Ms Connor told the court she had never laid in that position next to the victim.
