SUPPORTERS OF Byron Bay’s Sara Connor are calling for those who know her to write a character reference ahead of her November 9 trial over the alleged murder of a Bali police officer.
The Denpasar District Court websites states the separate trials for Sara and her British DJ boyfriend David Taylor will begin on November 9.
“It is important that the court in Bali know what a wonderful woman Sara really is,” her supporters say in a statement on the website thesarafund.com.
“What a beautiful mother she is and what a warm, kind and gentle friend she is to so many of us. The best way for us to tell the court this is to have you, her friends, write a reference for her.”
It says the reference should be short, respectful and to the point. “Don’t mention anything about your views on the case. Leave that to the lawyers.”
Connor, a mother of two, was a much liked member of the Byron Bay community and ran a fresh pasta business there.
Her supporters suggest telling the court how long the reference writer has known Connor and the circumstances, such as “we have children at the same school” or “I buy pasta from her”.
