EVERY TIME one of our long-time Bay residents passes on we are sad, but losing a mate makes it all that much sadder.
And losing Mick has been a very sad thing indeed. Perhaps not so much in recent years, but in years past Graeme “Mick” Wills was someone I valued as a great mate.
All who knew him have been terribly affected by Mick’s passing, and we send our love and best wishes to his family.
Amy Wills has posted an invitation to Mick’s send-off next weekend:
“We would like to invite all who knew and loved Graeme Wills to the Suffolk Park Hotel on Saturday 10th August @1.30pm to his send-off and to celebrate the life of an amazing man who had the biggest heart, gave the warmest hugs and told the best stories.
Please feel free to share with us your stories and favourite memories of the best dad, husband, poppy, brother, son and friend… who will be forever loved and missed and always in our heart.
Amy, Dan, Shell and Trish
I remember Mick very well, a great happy and friendly guy. So sorry to hear the sad news.
RIP Mick 🦋
Mick was a really good mate of mine growing up in the bay and from when we first met at Mullum High in 1066 we clicked. We had a ball getting into trouble in the bay over the sixties and seventies and when I get the chance I have some good stories to tell but not for general consumption. I was so looking forward to catching up in person after reconnecting through FB but I have my memories of time well spent with Mick Wills. Great person, friend and loving father who will be missed but not forgotten.
My good mate Mick has left early. from the first time I met him at Mullum High in 1966 we clicked and he was a big part of my growing up and getting into trouble in Byron bay over the sixties and seventies.
He talked me into playing hockey one year instead of rugby and introduced to lots of local girls.
He was always so much fun and such a straight forward, honest and positive person. He was a big part of my life growing to be one of the boys from the Bay and a great mate.
I am really sorry I did not get to see him recently but I have my memories of a great mate.
Thank you John xxoo
