AFTER AN ABSENCE of more than three decades, Byron Bay’s favourite and much loved Mexican Mick’s cuisine will return to the Byron Bay Services Club this month.
Genuine authentic Mexican Mick’s dishes from Mick’s original Cantina will be served at the Club as a prelude to a special show featuring Mojo who will be serving up a return to 60s and 70s rock and roll on Saturday August 26.
Mojo band leader Ray Lawlis is also the only Mexican chef in the world who is authorised to produce Mexican Mick’s recipes.

Ray was personally trained by Mexican Mick himself, Mick Cambray.
He ran a popular Mexican restaurant in Forster for 14 years, cooking only Mexican Mick’s recipes.
Ray has shared his Mexican cuisine secrets with the Byron Bay Services Club Bistro’s head chef.
Locals, both old and new, can be assured they will indeed be returning to some truly genuine Mexican Mick’s dining.
This is certain to be a sell-out night, so members and guests are urged to book NOW.
I’ll be there to represent my amazing Dad! (AKA MEXICAN MICK) And I could be seen with a sombrero and sparklers doing a song or two… 🙂 <3
Just called the RSL John, they’re not taking bookings for the night. Told me just to turn up. Gee there will be a Byron Bay stampede. Oh, the memories!!!
Wow, didn’t expect that. Although a few months ago I tried to book a table for 6 at the Top Pub and the girl told me they had to stop taking bookings because too many people never turned up.
Maybe it’s the same at the Services Club?
Can I say it will be my birthday and I want the sparklers and sombrero with Ray singing Happy Birthday Benz like Mick Cambray did back in 70s. Such a wonderful happy restaurant and cantina .
No guarantees, Benz – but I will pass on your request!
