ROBERT PLANT will celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s first ever live performance when he headlines the 2018 Byron Bay Bluesfest.
Plant and his band The Sensational Space Shifters lead a sensational first artist announcement for the 29th annual event from Thursday, March 29, to Monday, April 2.

They’ll be joined by Lionel Richie, Prince’s former backing band The New Power Generation, CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, Jose Gonzalez, First Aid Kit and Aussie greats The John Butler Trio and Tash Sultana.
Morcheeba, the amazing Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Eric Gales and the California Honeydrops will all return in 2018 after well received shows at this year’s festival.
Electric Blues legend Joe Louis Walker returns to Bluesfest for the fifth time in 2018 while rock torchbearers Gov’t Mule, Dumpstaphunk, Bobby Rush, Joe Louis Walker and Rick Estrin and The Nightcats are also on the bill.
Bluesfest director Peter Noble said fans could look forward to more announcements in coming weeks.
The 2018 Bluesfest plays Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just outside of Byron Bay, over the Easter long weekend.
