WHEN LONG time local, Mrs Busy Line (Jean Wright) heard about the fndraiser for Donalee Sloan, recent Rappville Fire victim, the first thing she said was, “I want to get a voucher for Donalee.”
She’s a lovely girl and I was good friends with her Mona and Don, her parents.”
Byron Bay residents who, like Jean, can’t make it to the Byron Bay Services Club for the event tonight, can drop vouchers off at the Club any time over the next few days.
For tonight’s entertainment, another long-time Bay local, Ray Lawlis, has organised a brilliant lineup of two bands – MOJO and HUMAN ERROR – featuring guest star Elli Gee from Brisbane.]
Doný miss this! A big rock ‘n’ roll fundraiser for Rappville fire victim, Donalee Sloan, at the Byron Bay Services Club tonight, Octover 19, starting at 7 pm.
There’ll be a table for people to donate sheets, blankets and other household necesities.
There will also be provision to receive cash donations and, most importantly, gift vouchers which can be redeemed at department stores like Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Kmart and Target.
Gift Vouchers Best Choice
When he spoke to Voice of Byron, Ray said gift couchers are by far the best option for people wishing to donate to Donalee.
“With gift vouchers, Donalee can buy what she really needs,” he said.
“It’s far better for her to be able to buy the things she needs, than to be stuck with say five toasters.”
