Voice of Byron regular, Geoff Wood, found a bunch of signs like this preventing access to the railway corridor at Byron Bay.
Geoff says, “Heads up surfers, dog owners, and families with children and beach goers in general trying to access the beach between Kendall Street and town.
“These signs have been erected in the last 24 hours.
“Thank Elements of Byron Resort & Spa and their affiliated Byron Bay Railroad company for this.
So how would a rail trail and train ever work
It is a requirement of law that these are displayed. Transport for NSW forced BBRC into doing it as a safety precaution. Access across operational rail corridors is illegal anyway.
So if my dog yanks her lead out of my hand and darts across this oh so busy rail corridor I can’t go after her to bring her back under my control, that’s handy.
