AUSTRALIA’S SUMMER music calendar is heating up with Falls Festival teasing their 2016-17 line-up with the revelation rapper Childish Gambino will see in New Year’s at their event.
Known as Donald Glover on his passport, the actor and popular musician was the only name organisers are prepared to announce ahead of their official line-up roll call on August 23.
Music fans wanting to plan their end-of-year activities were also given the official dates for the four events.
If you are heading to Falls’ original home in Lorne, you’ll need to be there from December 28 to 31.
Those who want the boutique experience of the Marion Bay event in Tasmania — which is highly recommended — should be prepared to party from December 29 to 31.
But if you seek a warmer beachside experience, Falls in Byron Bay kicks off on New Year’s Eve and runs until January 2.
The newest site for the event is Fremantle with a two-day falls on January 7 and 8.
Considering they performed a one-off at the recent sister festival Splendour In The Grass, comeback kings The Avalanches are hotly tipped to be among this year’s Falls line-up.
