COLOURFUL RUGBY League identity Greg Bird has been issued an infringement notice and $550 fine over his drunken antics at his infamous weekend at Byron Bay.
Bird was involved in two separate incidents during a boozy weekend in last month that may have fast-tracked his exit from the Gold Coast.
Bird asked for, and was granted, a release from the final year of his contract to take a reported five-year deal with Super League side Catalans.
Several Titans directors were keen to use the drama as an excuse to punt the controversial forward, but Bird spared them the trouble.
Despite protesting his innocence over his behaviour during one of the incidents, police issued the former NSW forward an infringement notice for failing to leave the premises.
