BYRON BAY became even more star-studded this year, with property purchases by singer Natalie Imbruglia, Hollywood actor Isabel Lucas and international model Gemma Ward.
London-based Imbruglia spent $1.3 million on her 2ha hinterland retreat at Coorabell that came with ocean views and approved plans for a new home.
Ward and her photographer partner David Letts bought at Suffolk Park earlier this year, making the beachside estate that much more fashionable.
The couple outlaid $1.6 million for the property where they plan to homebirth their second child next month.
Suffolk Park, long the poor cousin to Belongil and Wategos, also attracted movie star Lucas, who spent $857,500 on a tree house close by the surf.
Proud parents Craig and Leonie Hemsworth also popped up there to be closer to their sons, Hollywood hunks Luke, Liam and Chris Hemsworth. The folks paid $2.4 million in the exclusive Cypress gated community.
In Byron Bay’s latest luxury sale, Pineapple Cottage was sold for around $3 million by interior stylist Taliah Lowry and her husband Sein, who previously owned the popular backpackers The Arts Factory. It took just six days for the couple to find a buyer, having stylishly renovated the cottage since paying $1.2 million in 2009.
