BYRON SHIRE Council candidate Ian Cohen has an easy way to solve the Shire’s high rise building issues.

Mr Cohen says that if a majority of Councillors adhere to Council’s Local Environment plan (LEP), questions about high rise variations can never arise.

Main Arm Land Owner Fined $15,000 for Cutting Down Koala Feed Trees

A MAIN ARM land owner has been issued penalty notices (on-the-spot fines) totalling $15,000 for illegally removing trees from a property near Mullumbimby.

The five mature Tallowood trees were koala feed trees.

COMMUNITY LAND at Suffolk Park is now safe from being sold off. It will now be purchased by Council, in a deal done with the NSW Education Department to heavily discount the buy-price from $3 million to just $900,000
