Sunday 14 August from 9am – Ewingsdale Road

Our goal is to landscape the easement on Ewingsdale Road near the cycle bridge to improve aesthetics, runoff quality and reduce the potential for week infestation. We will meet at the Cavanbah Centre carpark, sign on at either 9 or 10am.

DOES DEPUTY Mayor Paul Spooner have a love affair with affordable housing?

This was the unusual claim made by a Byron Shire Greens councillor during a radio interview last Friday.

Cr Duncan Dey made the claim while being interviewed about a Byron Shire Council affordable housing approval that was supported by Cr. Spooner.

Singer Bernard Fanning Settles In at Byron

SINGER-SONGWRITER Bernard Fanning has joined other Australian celebrities in moving to Byron, giving him more to think about recently than this week’s release of his third solo album “Civil Dusk”.

The frontman of former rock band Powderfinger and his wife Andrea Moreno have also been settling into their new $2,465,000 Byron Bay home.

Falls Festival Confirms Childish Gambino

AUSTRALIA’S SUMMER music calendar is heating up with Falls Festival teasing their 2016-17 line-up with the revelation rapper Childish Gambino will see in New Year’s at their event.

Known as Donald Glover on his passport, the actor and popular musician was the only name organisers are prepared to announce ahead of their official line-up roll call on August 23.

Fatal Flaws in CZMP: NSW Planning Minister Petition

 

NEW SOUTH Wales Minister for Planning, Hon Rob Stokes, will be petitioned by the Byron Greens to send Byron Shire’s draft Coastal Zone Management Plan for the Byron Bay Embayment (CZMPBBE) back to Council for revision.

The draft Plan proposes hard works to resolve the conflict perceived between natural coastal processes and real estate boundaries at Belongil Beach.
