If we say ‘domestic abuse’ to you, what do you picture?

We can almost guarantee that many of you would have thought of black eyes, bruising, tears… in short, the signs of a violent attack.

However, there’s still a big difference between what people might imagine and the reality.

Although physical violence will often eventually happen in an abusive relationship, the actual abuse starts long before this. Control, manipulation and, as strange as it sounds, charm, are all part of it.

There is a powerful prima facie case that points to Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten doing a deal not to raise each other’s corrupt past during the election, as well as the corrupt and criminal conduct of their respective political parties.

The obvious reason for the deal to conceal the corruption during the election is that any battle between each other based on corruption would decrease their votes and increase the votes for the minor parties and independents. It is disgusting that two leaders and two parties would do a deal to downplay the corruption issue but it is very obvious that they have done the deal.

Researchers at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York studying invasive breast cancer are warning women that adding soy to your diet will speed up the rate at which breast cancer cells spread.

Each study into the role of the microbiome extends their realm of influence ever further.

The number of bacteria in our guts outnumbers the cells of our body. That fact alone makes them a worthy target for research.

There is an estimated 1 kilogram of bacteria within each average human adult.

ROSIE BATTY was thrust into the spotlight when her son, Luke, was killed by her ex-partner at cricket training.

During the election most people who take the stage at the National Press Club use the opportunity to bring the issue they campaign for, well, into the campaign — demanding election promises and commitment from the major parties.

But on Wednesday, domestic violence campaigner Rosie Batty used the opportunity to address all men instead of just politicians.

“Byron Girl” Nabs Top Spot at Foodbank

`Brianna-Casey-picFoodbank Australia today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed “Byron Bay girl” Brianna Casey as its new Chief Executive Officer effective 18 July 2016.

Brianna, daughter of long-time locals Nick and Gail Casey, grew up in Byron Bay, completing her education at Byron Bay Public School, then attending high school at the (then) new Byron Bay High School.

Brianna joins Foodbank, the country’s largest food relief organisation, from the Australian Childcare Alliance New South Wales where she was Chief Executive Officer for three years. Prior to that, she spent 14 years with NSW Farmers and the Queensland Farmers’ Federation.
