HUNDREDS of people will meet at Splendour in the Grass next Friday to play Pokemon Go.

The online game allows people to play on their mobile phones, catching Pokemon characters while roaming the streets in a mix of real-life-meets-anime-world.

GOLD COASTER Sean Ryatt claims he has discovered a rip-off happening at Aldi supermarkets.

He claims it’s only small, but it adds up to make big extra profits for Australia’s third largest supermarket chain.

“I know it doesn’t seem like much in dollars-and-cents terms, but in this day and age every little bit counts,” he said.

THERE was a happy ending for a very young humpback whale which was stranded at Seven Mile Beach at Lennox Head yesterday.

ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia) reported on its Facebook page that “lots of wonderful people worked very hard to re-float and release the calf as there was a pod of humpback whales just offshore”.

NOW OPEN: Byron Community Recycling Centre

Byron Shire’s Community Recycling Centre is at the Byron Resource Recovery Centre, 115 Manse Road,Myocum.

Byron Shire now has a new easy way to dispose of household problem waste items and help reduce the impact on the environment and increase resource recovery.

Opened today at the Byron Resource Recovery Centre by the Hon. Ben Franklin MLC, was the new Community Recycling Centre.

It’s a FREE service for household problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste and recycling collection services and if incorrectly disposed of can cause significant harm to the environment.
