Living Wake to Celebrate Local Legend Mookx Hanley

LOCAL LIVING LEGEND Brendan ‘Mookx’ Hanley has invited special guests to perform his songs at a living wake at the Brunswick Picture House on Sunday, 26 November 2017 from 2pm to 5pm.

The community is invited to come and celebrate the life and era of a pioneer in music, comedy, activism and film while he is still breathing the air with us.

Illegal Camping Still in Byron Council’s Sights

BYRON SHIRE Councillor Michael Lyon will call for  Council staff progress reports regarding illegal camping on Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads beaches.

Cr Lyon will request information as to what “actions that have been taken or are planned to be taken to prevent illegal camping, dumping and other damaging activities at the Belongil sand dunes following the latest clean-up that occurred on October 24” and “actions that have been taken or are planned to be taken to prevent damage to sand dunes at Brunswick Heads.”

“I do hope it generates discussion and certainly brings the Greens and the local RSL branch into account.

“Readers are advised that the Green Councillors refused to seek legal advice.

“I am aware that Cr Ndiaye took advice from local RSL branches.”

‘Crazed’ Dog Attacks Tourist on Byron Shire Beach

POLICE ARE searching for the owners of a ‘crazed’ German shepherd that attacked a US tourist jogging at a popular Byron Shire beach.

Maya Kidan said the dog, which is believed to belong to a couple in their 60s, latched onto her right buttock shortly after 2.30 pm Friday at New Brighton Beach, just north of Brunswick Heads.

BRUNSWICK HEADS’ Tay Lucas has called for help across Facebook to find her best friend Selena Collinson who has been missing since Saturday, Sept 30.

Selena didn’t return home Saturday night, but her car has been found parked and locked in New Brighton behind the New Brighton Shop.
