HAVE YOU ever dreamed of sashaying around the dance floor with your partner (or a stranger) to a hot lambada, a sweaty salsa or a passionate bachata?
The Byron Latin Fiesta is on this weekend and caters for beginners to maestros, offering a schedule full of dancing classes and social dances where the couples will show off their skills.
This year, the line up includes guest teachers Anais Minion from France, Edwin Ferreras from Dominican Republic and Cruz Vazquez, a Cuban dancer who calls Australia home.
There will also be more 30 Australian and local dancers coming to teach their best moves, including Csaba Szirmai, who became popular as one of the professional dancers on reality TV show Dancing With the Stars.
This year, the festival will again feature live music: Afro-Cuban salsa ensemble Chukale, directed by percussionist and singer Gustavo Cereijo, and Queensland’s fusion band Bombolaye.
