BYRON BAY’S Butler Street Community Network (BSCN) has launched a Land and Environment Court challenge to the Byron Bay CBD bypass.
The Butler Street bypass was approved by the Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) on 22nd June this year.
Byron Shire Council, its consultants GHD and the approval authority the JRPP were joined in the court action notified last week.
BSCN says that in Council’s presentation to the JRPP it “presented false and misleading information, withheld information and refused information to ensure their chosen bypass route.”
The group’s president Paul Jones says Byron Shire Council “will now have to answer to the court rather than disregard the facts.”
The move could delay any work on the project for as long as 12 months.
Jones said it was with great disappointment and much consideration that their residents group resolved to take this extraordinary measure.
Byron Needs a BYPASS so I suggest Paul Jones and other hipocritical residents to either move ahead or simply move out of Byron Bay as it’s growing weather we like it or not so stop YOUR WINGING and lets this town move forward I really hate people who whinge when they know that Byron was always going to grow bigger no Matter what , be happy or get out I say mate 😇🙂😎
James, stop whinging or seek help.
Hateful attitudes or people are not the spirit of Byron.
