VOICE of BYRON regular, Lee Raphael Cass, shared a video and his thoughts on the train running from North Byron into Byron Bay and back.
On Tuesday, December 19, Lee said, “Jeremy Holmes from ‘Byron Train’ on Bay Fm just now said the ‘solar train was four years in the making,’ and how it was the first solar train in the world.
He seems to have forgotten the community opposition to his planned diesel train for three years.

In December 2014, he said they were working ‘to advance our intent to eventually convert to a solar powered train,’ but planned on running the diesel train from June 2015 for at least two years.
And if it were successful, THEN would convert the train. When a group published data in The Echo showing there was no such thing as a solar powered train on earth, but that for a relatively small sum it could be converted and that a dirty diesel did not fit the Byron zero emissions scheme, Byron Bay got a clean train.
This of course does not fit the Railway public relations spin.
