TWEED-BYRON police have arrested a man in Byron Bay on drugs charges after he was allegedly spotted eating the leaves off a tree at a car park.
About 1.30am on Saturday, October 21, police were called to a car park in Jonson Street, Byron Bay because a man was allegedly drug affected and eating leaves from a tree.
On arrival, police witnessed a 24-year-old man from Victoria eating leaves from a tree.

The man was searched and police allegedly located two capsules containing MDMA.
The man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and was bailed to appear at Byron bay Local Court on November 2.
