THE NEW Honour Roll for Byron Bay’ Surf Alley is to be installed this Wednesday July 26.
Designed and produced by local business Shogun Signs, and commissioned by Popped Creative, the Honour Roll is a handcrafted surfboard-shaped mural, with all the original honour roll names embossed into it.
Popped Creative’s Monique Hartman says: “We’re so excited to finally have the honour roll installed.
“It was an important part of the project to ensure we respected our town’s surfing legacy, and we think everyone will really like the new incarnation.
“The original mural was a great initiative, but the paint was fading.
“This way, the names won’t fade, and the honour roll will be protected, even if the alley is repainted again down the track”.
Interested locals have been invited to join the team for the honour roll launch this Wednesday 26 July at 1:30 pm.
The Popped Surf Alley project was one of four initiatives born out of the Byron Bay Town Centre Masterplan’s Placemaking Seed Funding program.
