SEVENTEEN BANGALOW community groups have joined together to form the Bangalow Community Associations Alliance. The BCAA was formed in response to reports that Council felt it could “do what it liked” in Bangalow because it was “divided and apathetic.”
These reports came to light after discussions between Bangalow representatives and Council representatives over the issue of paid parking.
From these discussions it was evident that Council had decided Bangalow was getting parking meters whether they liked it or not.
Concern arose because of a perception that the team surveying whether Bangalow needed paid parking was in fact made up of people from the company which would provide the parking meters to Council.
Each of the seventeen community groups represented by the BCAA is currently against paid parking for Bangalow.
Discussions will continue over the forthcoming weeks.
The council never listens as they know best
