Voice of Byron regular, Catherine Coorey, has an important statement regarding illegal parties in and around the Tallow Creek estuary.
Cate says, “A new bunch of idiots tried to have a doof party at Tallow Estuary last Saturday night.
“Locals spotted them carrying sound equipment in.
“The police came but they had already lit fires – at a time when the NSW Fire Commissioner announced ‘catastrophic’ fire conditions.
“A few stray sparks and the Arakwal National Park could have been ablaze. Download and print this flyer if you are a local and distribute it around the place.
“Tallow Creek estuary is one of the most ecologically sensitive spots in the shire.”
Wildlife terrorist. Surely illegal activity terrorising the wild life, damaging nature reserves and putting the community at risk of the health consequences and property loss of bush fire. Look what just happened at broken and Lennox wirh fire out of control. This should effect visas of international visitors involved in this activity. This issue needs a coordinated approach national Parkes, police, council and immigration need to work together together. Get number plates, photographic evidence, identify and contact immigration to review visas. That will get their attention. Unless of course you want to sell out the environment for Byron to be the new ibetha or moon party international hot spot of the western world.
