Know What I Miss About Byron Bay? (KWIMABB) regular, Kerri Dewell, shared this terrific photo of her parents’ wedding at the Great Northern Hotel in 1940.
Kerri says, “As promised, a wedding photo at The Great Northern Hotel – my mum and dad, David Turner and Kathleen Pawley’s original wedding photo with another much more recent one.
“Dad worked at the abattoirs, mum lived in Ruskin Street and they both passed 23 and 24 years ago. I know mum went to St Finbarr’s Catholic school.
“Her sister was Peggy and their mum and dad were Oscar and Henrietta Pawley
“The wedding photo is from Somerville studios. They were married on 23.5.1940
“I know we have relatives in the area still but over the years have lost contact or most have passed away.
“I know dad had sisters Edna, Phyllis, Maider,and brother Dougie
