BLUESFEST’S PETER Noble heads a strong group of Byron Bay locals and friends of Mark “Mono” Stewart who have launched a fundraising campaign to help him defend his World Surfing title.
Peter has donated two 5-day VIP passes to Bluesfest 2017, valued at $1900 to help out as fundraising prizes.
Last year Mono won the inaugural World DSA Surfing Championships, returning to the Bay with the gold medal.
This year’s titles are at La Jolla Beach in the USA and the costs to get there are high.
Mono and fellow Bay boy Dave Munk both need help to get to the titles.
Dave is on the Australian Team in the Upright Division.
“This Saturday Nov 26 is the band night at the Rails with heaps of raffles, an auction and more,” says Mono.
“But We also have a major raffle happening on Sunday 4th Dec.”
This will feature a draw at the Gaz Morgan Charity Golf Ball Drop at the Red Devils Park, Byron Bay.
“Prizes in the Monster Raffle include a new signed Mark Richards ‘Bustin Down The Door’ Gun, T&C Retro Twinfin, plus prizes from Byron Skydive, and lots more,” says Mono.
“The fundraiser this Saturday at the Railway Hotel and the Major Raffle Draw on 4th December will not only generate funds for Dave and I but the whole Australian Team will benefit also.”
Tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50.
Tickets can be bought on Saturday night at the Rails on-line shortly via Cape Byron Marketing.
Mono expressed his huge thanks to everyone for their support so far.
“Go the Bay!”
