Voice of Byron regular, Marc Jones, pays his own personal tribute to well-loved local, the late Pearl Varcin.
Marc wrote: “My mates’ mum and wonderful woman with a heart of gold passed away 11/11/16.
“Pearl Varcin helped a lot of people over the years in the Bay and would ALWAYS go that extra yard to help someone in need.
“My condolences go out to Geoff, Russell, Lynn and the rest of the family.
“RIP Pearl, you will be missed by a lot of people.”

Beautiful Pearl, she was always there for our community, and always ready to share her smile and good cheer.
She was a great supporter of Green & Clean dunecare, giving free massages away to our volunteers every month for many years.
Maurie and Pearl spent days helping us on a week-long major town clean-up in the late 90’s. A few times a day they would arrive with the boot packed full of rubbish they found around town, they where both legends!
