BYRON YOUTH Service has two new additions to its family. Dale Shaddick, has come on board as BYS’ Education Support Youth Worker and Lindy Lou Smith will lead BYS’s Certificate II in Hospitality + Event Management.
Funded by a St George Foundation grant, Dale will be working closely with Byron Community Campus teachers to support distance education students.
Dean will also co-ordinate the centre’s new after-school computer lab drop-in service at the YAC.
On Mondays through to Thursdays, from 3:30 to 5:30pm during school terms, young people may access BYS’s brand new IMac computer lab for homework, surfing or gaming.
Lindy Lou will promote and facilitate BYS’s upcoming Certificate II in Events Management course.
This is a Flannery Foundation-funded course in collaboration with North Coast TAFE, offering young people certification and work experience in a very Byron Shire-relevant industry.
Orientation is scheduled for 14th September, tell one, tell all young people who may be interested and call 66857777 for more information.
