Voice of Byron: Our Vision
THE VOICE of Byron suite of Facebook groups has now been part of the Byron community for a little over 6 years.
Currently, the Voice of Byron companion website to the Facebook groups receives (at time of writing) 718 visits, viewing 2261 pages on average, every day.
John Wright, former owner and editor of The Byron Shire News, is now seeking crowdfunding support to expand Voice of Byron’s presence.
“It’s now time for Voice of Byron to take the next step: publishing more stories about real Byron people.”
“Our expansion has two goals. One, to advertise in existing local media to tell more Byron residents about what we are doing, and two, to publish a regular Voice of Byron Wrap-Up,” he said.
John explains that the 11 million Australians that log on to Facebook every day represent around 46% of the population.
“We don’t have anything like 46% of the Byron population as Voice of Byron members yet,” he continued.
“So we feel it’s best to advertise in existing local media to reach new potential members.”
John also provided a video demonstrating how Voice of Byron Wrap-Up will work.
“Voice of Byron Wrap-Ups will appear on the Voice of Byron website as they are published,” he said.
